Easy Mark

This album starts like one of those "lost" Beatles demos that they released with all kinds of extra recording and stuff back in the 1990s. But that doesn't last too long and it turns into a frantic, catchy pop-guitar-hook-pants-wetting extravaganza. That's just the first track. The second one has a bunch of synth programming and is no less popglorious, and ends abruptly in favor of straightup guitar pop song "The Site…". And so on and so forth and so on and so forth. Basically, this whole album is high-octane, catchy, guitary poprock'n'roll of the superbestest kind. It sounds great. It sounds familiar without ever quite sounding like anything else, which is just fine, because that's kinda sorta the (easy) mark of high quality pop songs, right? If you're confused, then listen to the PhiLL(er) New Song Daily #83, "Hostage Taker". You won't be disappointed. And you won't be disappointed if you shell out your hard-earned cash for this album, either.
