The songs on Ethan Daniel Davidson's new EP Better Living Through Creative Selling is musically not your typical singer-songwriter material. Upon reading about Davidson's travels around the world playing music, I have to admit to expecting a reasonable dose of acoustic guitar-based tracks. While Davidson does demonstrate his ability to perform within more traditional boundaries on "Ring Them Bells (Unplugged)", the music on Better Living Through Creative Selling is quite varied.

On "Terrorist" Davidson sings about a Jewish friend's perception of her role as a "freedom fighter" during World War II over a sample of "Ya Loulid" by Khaled and pulsating beats. The sarcastic lyrical style throughout Better Living Through Creative Selling allows Davidson to cover a variety of political topics without seeming preachy. Whether the issue being discussed is the perception one has of their own "terrorist" actions or what some may call the deformed American dream as in "I Want To Be a Comfortable Middle-Class Consumer", Davidson crams a large amount of content relevant to the current state of affairs into this six song EP.
