On An Amazing Dream, The Asteroid #4 do their best to create an enveloping atmosphere. The key to their dreamy environment comes in the form of a heavy dose of reverb; lots of it. Was it not for the grounding nature of the bass and drums the ten tracks may have ended up floating permanently away into dreamland.

The Asteroid #4 strike a careful balance, allowing the songs to flow freely, fully exploring every inch of sonic space, but also taking care to insure the tracks move forward in interesting directions. Scott Vitt's lyrics bring a bit of natural imagery, mental snapshots, and story lines that hint at the fact that all isn't necessarily pleasant in ones dreams.

If you're looking to be taken by a wash of dreamy sound that doesn't necessarily suffer along at a dreamy pace, this may be the album for you.
