New Sunfold Album and Tour This Tuesday

Toy Tugboats CoverSunfold, the sister band of Annuals, will be releasing their latest album, Toy Tugboats, on their Terpsikhore collective label. The collective label also released the Annuals/Sunfold split Zoo EP earlier this year.

New Brian Vander Ark Album Due in October

Brian Vander Ark CoverBrian Vander Ark, former singer of The Verve Pipe, is releasing his self-titled third solo album on September 30th. Interestingly, the new album was funded primarily by Vander Ark’s touring last year which included playing in fans’ living rooms and backyards.

NPR Documentary Featuring Georgie James Nominated for an Emmy

Georgie James entered NPR Studio 4A to record a song in two days based on an image and a phrase. The entire process was recorded and documented by All Songs Considered.

Now, NPR’s “Project Song” documentary has been nominated for an Emmy Award in the “Best Approach to News & Documentary” category. To listen to the song and view the process, visit NPR’s Project Song page.

New 60 Watt Kid EP Available as Free Download

2012 Breakdown Cover60 Watt Kid’s latest EP, 2012 Breakdown, is now available for free download from Absolutely Kosher Records.

The group is relocating from the Bay Area down to Los Angeles in August, but is currently conducting a tour of California in support of 2012 Breakdown. If you happen to live in CA, here are some dates for you to check out.

There Is Loud Laughter EverywhereHead Like a Kite’s latest, There Is Loud Laughter Everywhere has been out for about a month now and if you haven’t done so already, you should definitely check it out. To aid your efforts, you can actually stream the full album via the link on this page. Definite highlight of the album is the track “Daydream Vacation” which features Asya of Smoosh. Appearances on the album are also made by members of: Crooked Fingers, The Long Winters, and Radio 4.
