Forget the fact that your Chinese calendar may inform you that 2009 is the year of the ox. The original lineup of The Jesus Lizard – David Yow, Duane Denison, David Wm. Sims, and Mac McNeilly – are reuniting for a brief string of performances in 2009 that will have fans of the group which disbanded back in 1999 declaring 2009 to be the year of the Lizard. The first performance will be at the All Tomorrow’s Parties “The Fans Strike Back” event in the UK in early May with a final performance occurring in Chicago some time in November.

Touch and Go Records is also doing what it can to support the year of the Lizard, reissuing four remastered releases by the group – Head, Goat, Liar, and Down with expanded packaging on LP and CD in May.
