Athens, GA, home of some ridiculously good bands, is gearing up for the 11th Annual AthFest being held June 20-24, 2007. In addition to the festival, which will feature more than 150 bands and artists (including The PhiLL(er) favorites Cinemechanica and We Versus The Shark), AthFest and Ghostmeat Records have been releasing an annual compilation of Athens-based artists since 1998.

The AthFest 2007 CD was just released yesterday and in celebration a CD release party will be held on May 4th at Tasty World in Athens. Performers at the party are: Tin Cup Prophette, The Renegadez, The Empties, and Beyond Tomorrow.
