With how popular Marty’s review of Neil Young: Heart of Gold has been on the site, this seems to be something that may interest readers.

American Laundromat Records has announced that it is planning to release a tribute to Neil Young titled Cinnamon Girl near the end of 2006. The album will focus on Young’s early work from 1969-1979 and is to be recorded by women artists and female-fronted bands. Submissions are currently being excepted for artists that wish to be on the album and guidelines are on the Cinnamon Girl website.

In memory of the label founder’s mother, Norine R. Spadaro, a portion of all sales will go to Casting For Recovery. The organization provides support and education for women who have or have had breast cancer by gathering in natural settings and learning fly-fishing.
