Plenty Of “Reasons” To Look Forward To Red Pens Debut

First, I apologize for the post title, but it was a bit too hard to resist and really, Minneapolis duo Red Pens‘ debut album Reasons is a release that should be on your radar. Opener “Hung Out” begins with a melody that resembles something out of the Sonic Youth playbook before transitioning into the wall of fuzzed-out reverb that is prevalent throughout the remaining tracks giving the team of Howard W. Hamilton III (guitar/vocals) and Laura Bennett (drums) a bigger sound than you might expect.

Currently, the only scheduled performances from the group are all in their hometown, but one can hope that they’ll be planning to venture out on the road following the February 16th release of Reasons.
