According to the most recent update from Kill Rock Stars, The Thermals will be heading into the studio this December to record their 5th album with Chris Walla of Death Cab for Cutie fame. Following the recording sessions, Walla will be mixing the album in January 2010. The yet to be titled album is currently scheduled for release on September 7, 2010 on Kill Rock Stars.

Fans of the band located in the Pacific northwest will have a few opportunities to see the band live this December:

Phantogram

Phantogram is a new signing to Barsuk Records and will be releasing their album Eyelid Movies, which features that track “When I’m Small”, early next year. The scheduled release date is February 9, 2010. They just wrapped up a tour of Europe and will be heading back on the tour in the US with Zero 7 staring December 7th.

“Hearts to Lend” is the first single from Italian group My Awesome Mixtape‘s second album How Could a Village Turn into a Town.
