Since we just posted about a Baton Rouge, Louisiana band, now seems to be as good a time as any to share another Louisiana band with you. This time it is The Zydepunks.

As you have likely inferred from the group’s name, their music includes a heavy dose of zydeco and in that tradition the accordion plays a major role in the songs. Earlier this year The Zydepunks released Finisterre on Nine Mile Records. For those interested in hearing The Zydepunks’ blend of zydeco, Eastern European, and punk Finisterre is available for streaming in its entirety at ReverbNation and the band has a bunch of performances scheduled through February of 2009 primarily in New Orleans, but also in Houston, TX; Knoxville, TN; and Asheville, NC. Check The Zydepunks site and MySpace page for all the latest dates.

December is shaping up to be a busy month for We Landed on the Moon!. The Baton Rouge, Louisiana quintet will be hitting the road and also be releasing their second full-length, These Little Wars. The album is actually available now via digital means at Amazon and iTunes, but December 16th is the official physical release date. Based on the number of hits and comments our brief post on Scott Weiland’s new album has received, it seems fair to say that there’s a bit of interest in his new album, Happy In Galoshes, which was just released this past Tuesday. In support of the album, Scott Weiland will be touring across the U.S. throughout the winter.
