Wonka Vision Magazine and The Syndicate Hold SXSW Party

File this under one of the million reasons I have to be disappointed that I won’t be attending SXSW this year. The always excellent Wonka Vision Magazine is teaming up with The Syndicate to host a welcome party for this year’s SXSW Music Festival. Titled “Falling Off The Welcome Wagon”, here’s all the cool reasons why I wish I was going:

  • Free Beer
  • Free Liquor
  • Free Food
  • Free Gifts including a copy of the new Wonka Vision issue
  • 2 Stages and 8 Bands

It’s taking place at RED 7 on Wednesday, March 14, from 2-6 PM. The bands schedule to perform include: Rocky Votolato w/Slender Means, Panthers, Mando Diao, and Your Black Star.

On the New Server

If you’re seeing this the website has successfully made it to the new server!

In addition to just being on a new server, there have been a number of updates:

  • The podcast has been integrated with the rest of the front page content (news, interviews, etc.) and when a new podcast is posted, it will appear on the front page. If you just want to view podcasts, visit the podcast page.
  • Color-coordinated categories: News content is gray, podcasts are blue, features are yellow, and reviews are green - just like the color next to the menu items in the navigation header.
  • Related to the color-coordination, the album reviews have finally had their template updated to match the rest of the site. Hooray!

If you notice anything funky while browsing, please let me know by emailing me or leaving a comment to this post so that I can address it.

Thanks,

Phill

All music for today’s show is from Secretly Canadian Records. Head over to their site and support this great label. Also, I accidentally said, “Bloomington, Alabama” regarding some show dates, obviously I meant to say, “Bloomington, Indiana.”
