I was out in Tennessee at my parents’ house when I learned that James Brown had passed away and figured that since I had limited internet access I’d let the real news organizations handle the story.
As I was going through my RSS feeds I came across a group of posts on the MC Hammer Blog that I thought were worth sharing. In case you’ve missed my previous praises of the MC Hammer Blog, it’s a real personal blog and not just a means to promote himself and this is just another example of how he shares the events of his life.
Back to James Brown related news, it seems as though Spike Lee will be working on a film about Brown in late 2007.

So just because The Fever broke up earlier this year doesn’t mean that they still can’t spread a little holiday joy. Apparently this video has been in rotation over at MTV but seeing as how I just got power back and also that I don’t have cable, I had no idea.
It turns out that Chunky Pam is the cousin of Geremy from The Fever and he’s helping out his cuz by encouraging others to spread her contribution to holiday cheer by celebrating food, sex, and Christmas.

Temporary Residence Limited delivered a ton of great news at the end of November (yes, I’m a bit behind, but I’m working on it!) and I’d have to say the biggest and bestest of it was that Rob Crow had signed on to release his new solo album on the label. Titled Living Well, the album will feature 14 tracks and be released on January 23rd.
The label won’t begin taking pre-orders for the album (as well as new releases from Explosions in the Sky, Cex, and Eluvium), but Amazon is already willing to hook you up if you’re the forgetful type (like me) and need to take care of ordering it now while it’s still on your mind.
Temporary Residence has posted an MP4 of the track “I Hate You, Rob Crow” (linked in the track listing) and fans of Crow’s various projects should not be disappointed.
Living Well Track Listing
01. Bam Bam
02. I Hate You, Rob Crow (Album Version)
03. Taste
04. Over Your Heart
05. Up
06. Chucked
07. Burns
08. Liefeld
09. Leveling
10. Ring
11. Focus
12. If Wade Would Call
13. No Sun
14. I Hate You, Rob Crow (Single Version) (MP4)
