The Rosebuds’ Next Album Near Completion

It’s been over three months since The Rosebuds last posted  their blog and I think I know why. According to a post made today, the group is very near completion of their next album. Recorded primarily at their home studio, they still have a couple weeks of work left, but the album isn’t slated for release until April 10, 2007 on Merge Records.

No track titles or an album title are offered, but they do state an intention to hopefully post a couple tracks on their blog or their MySpace page.

Filter Magazine Maps Gear Thefts

Filter Magazine had an interesting post on their blog with a map plotting sites of band gear thefts and a pie chart break down by city.

I think it’s a pretty cool idea, but maybe a bit poorly implemented…or maybe just implemented in an ugly format. Something about Excel looking pie charts just makes me cringe. Plus the Frappr map has a bunch of extra plots for non-theft related locations.

Yes, Philadelphia is way ahead percentage-wise, but there are only eleven thefts noted on their map so…yeah. Like I said, it’s a cool idea.
