After completing performance dates with Minus the Bear, instrumental group Russian Circles is planning to head out on the road throughout June and July in support of their album Enter.
Writer Erik Stinson recently completed a review of Enter, and I gotta say I don’t think he really liked it. Thanks to fantastic internet technology, however, music reviews have gone the way of Reading Rainbow and you no longer just have to take our word for it. Flameshovel Records is allowing people to stream the entire album as well as providing an MP3 of “Death Rides a Horse”. The track was also included on podcast #42.
So here are those tour dates we were talking about:
06/07 Denver, CO @ Marquis Theater
06/08 Lawrence, KS @ The Bottleneck
06/09 Minneapolis, MN @ Triple Rock Social Club
06/11 Louisville, KY @ Headliners

I’m all for KEXP finding new revenue streams and everything, but something still sits kind of funny with me about this. iTunes is now exclusively selling digital copies of Nada Surf’s live performance on KEXP recorded at the Triple Door on February 26th.
The “album” is actually considered to be a Barsuk release, but hopefully they’re giving a little kickback to the station. Still though, why a damn iTunes exclusive?! Even if the DRM on iTunes is “less intrusive” it’s still a bitch.

I had to use a slightly different format for this show. I’m currently in between places and living at my girlfriend’s mom’s house which isn’t as recording-friendly, especially since I don’t like to record with other people around. Hopefully I’ll have a different method to get these put together over the next few weeks, but until then, this playlist will actually prove to be a valuable companion to listening.
