Podcasts to Begin This Weekend

Welcome to the home of The PhiLL(er)’s new podcast. If all goes well, we’ll have our very first one posted this weekend.

For those of you not familiar with podcasting, podcastingnews.com has a great article on how to get started with podcasting in 3 steps.

Beggars Banquet Signs Calla

Brooklyn’s Calla have just signed on with Beggars Banquet. The label, which is home to artists such as The Mountain Goats and Blonde Redhead among quite a few others, will be releasing the band’s follow-up to 2003’s Televise. Calla began working on their new album, Collisions, with producer Chris Zane during the summer of 2004 and will be touring in support of the album in October following its September 27, 2005 release.

Narrator and Make Believe Chase Each Other Around US

Flameshovel Records just packed up two of its kids into their vans and set them out on the road today. Although The Narrator and Make Believe aren’t touring together (except for one show), the two bands are following the same path as they loop around the western 3/4ths of the United States. So after seeing the first band come through your town, remember that you’ve got another good show to go to one or two days later. If only Google Maps had a way for me to plot out their stops and overlap them…then I could be happy.
