Menomena Head East

The month of March will see Portland band Menomena heading east to tour with Thrill Jockey band Pit er Pat. The tour should be a more pleasant one as they upgrade to a 1995 Dodge Cargo Van leaving the possibility of dying in their old “RV Danger” behind (images of “RV Danger” may be found in the band’s tour recap). The eighteen-date tour begins on March 2nd in Minneapolis and includes a performance at the Barsuk/FILMguerrero showcase at the SXSW music festival in Austin, TX.

Previously Sold Out Live Pixies Recordings Now Available

Made possible by a generous donation, limited copies of the DiscLive CDs recorded during the Pixies’ 2004 warm-up tour are now available through American Laundromat Records. All proceeds from sales of the CDs will go towards aiding Sean T. Rayburn and Ray Dolber pay for the escalating bandwidth costs of maintaining PixiesMusic.com.

Throughout 2004 PixiesMusic.com was the source for any and all information related to the 2004 Reunion Tour. Rayburn and Dolber worked with a variety of sources to give fans the opportunity to purchase tickets early and created a community forum for fans to get together. In 2005 they are looking to expand the site’s community-building capabilities with a new chatroom and interviews with various Pixies-related people.

Live recordings of the April 13th-29th shows, as well as the July 30th show in Japan are currently available for $20 each.
