The one known as Goldfrapp, who has lately been encouraging fans to wear wolfmasks to shows, is finally making it across the Atlantic (or across Europe, Asia, and the Pacific) to play some shows in support of her latest album, Black Cherry. This is fresh off scoring her second appearance on UK’s Top of the Pops show based on the success of her ode to a vibrator, “Strict Machine”, which opened at #25 on the UK charts.
Before we get to the dates the “deer x” (It’s kind of like Björk’s Meester Fly, only not animated and more overtly sexual) provided me with, it should also be noted that Goldfrapp has recently released a secret version of her website only accessible with a copy of Black Cherry. I’m going to have to take the deer’s word on it, however, as my CD-rom is ueber-busted. So, visit her site with album in hand (or drive) and give it a go.
Anyway, the dates:
09/17: Washington DC - 9:30 Club
09/18: New York - Irving Plaza
09/20: Boston - Paradise Rock Club
09/22: Montreal - Le Spectrum
09/23: Toronto - The Opera House
09/25: Chicago - The Park West
09/26: Minneapolis - Fine Line Music Café
09/30: Vancouver - Commodore Ballroom
10/01: Seattle - Chop Suey
10/04: San Francisco - The Filmore
10/05: San Diego - Cannes
10/08: Los Angeles - Henry Fonda Theatre

The aforementioned album slated for a fall release includes the following tracks:
01 “Ventriloquist”
02 “Surprise!”
03 “Trapped Under Ice Floes (Redux)”
04 “She’s Got Your Eyes”
05 “Summer Dress 1 (All Her Winter Clothes)”
06 “Cutting Out”
07 “Megalomaniac”
08 “Scarecrow”
09 “No One Sees You Like I Do”

Also look for them to bring their rockin’ lap-pop to your [insert local indie club here] in support of the album in the fall as well.

Beulah headlines as J.V. supports (with the real headliner being Christopher McGuire on drums). This tour is done to protest all of John Vanderslice’s CDs being stolen from my car. Unfortunately none of the proceeds go towards their replacement, but much fun will still be had. After all, if we can land a man on the moon then surely you can enjoy one of these concerts.
