Barely over three months after the release of their Sub Pop debut, No Silver/No Gold, Baptist Generals are already at work on their new album tentatively titled Revolutionary Modern Heart for release in the fall if all goes well. A full tracklist has yet to be compiled, but the group has been incorporating the new songs into their live set lists. Of course, since they are working on the new album, they aren’t playing many live shows so here’s the short list:
Sat May 24 Sons of Hermann Hall Dallas, TX
w/Slobberbone
Rock Creek Revelaires
Fri Jun 13 J and J's Old Dirty Basement Denton, TX
w/The Theatre Fire
Thu Jul 31 Rubber Gloves Denton, TX
w/Centro-matic
Panda opens
Fri Aug 1 Fat Cats Houston, TX
Sat Aug 2 The Mercury Austin, TX
w/Centro-matic
If you happen to live outside of the Republic of Texas, look for a late September/early October tour with the Mountain Goats.

So I guess I get the joy of making the first news post. Anyway, Matador recently announced the title and street date of Pretty Girls Make Graves’ new album, “The New Romance” to be released on September 9, 2003.
Prior to the album’s release, the single “This Is Our Emergency” will be released on Matador UK with some radio session tracks not on the album. Also in August the band will be touring Europe with the Blood Brothers.
